Buon Gusto

Hello!!!

I went to have lunch with the CCF girls. We said we wanted to have lunch since a few weeks ago and we finally have the time to have lunch together. Yuki suggested this Italian restaurant just behind our school and it's just a stone's throw away from our school.

This place is super near our school but I doubt people will notice it because the location is quite inside as it's not near the main road. We went there in the afternoon and it's closed. But the owner is very nice, he allowed us to go in even though it's closed. (Partly it's because Shirley insisted to go in. Haha.)

There's this lunch set for only AUD$10 which includes 1 main dish and a drink. And there are many dishes you can choose from which is super worth it because some restaurants only offer a few dishes for customers if they were to have a promotion. And the restaurant owner is very friendly. And his friends are also friendly. I think he is overly friendly. His friend started talking to us halfway through his meal and even offered us his wine. Haha.

#1 Salmon Pasta: Although it's a bit creamy, I think it's quite nice because I finished everything. Haha. I like it because the salmon goes very well with the sauce.
#2 Creamy Spanish Pasta: I can't express how much hatred I have on vegetables, so I didn't try this. But Nadia said that it was too creamy for her and she didn't finish the food. Haha.
#3 Beef Lasagna: I guess it's the same as the other restaurants. I don't think it's very special.
#4 Risotto: The menu stated that it's vegetarian risotto. So I didn't dare to try it. Haha.

It's Time For Thai

Sawadeeka!!!

Chanya keeps telling me that there's this famous thai food around her place and wants to bring me to try it. I only managed to try it recently, like a few weeks ago when I went over to UNSW to study.

The place is quite convenient, as it's near UNSW. Like only 5 to 10 mins walk from school. We went there during dinner time and the place was super crowded!!! We needed to wait for 20 mins for a seat out in the cold!!! I was thinking to myself the food better be good and worth my wait. But to my disappointment, the food is only average. I don't find it extremely nice for their main dishes.

What I want to introduce, is their dessert. We had this kaya roti prata for dessert and it's the bomb!!! Seriously, if you eat the 2 dishes, Kaya and Roti Prata separately, you'll think that it's normal. But if you combine the 2 together it's damn nice!!! It's quite innovative for them to combine these 2 dishes together actually. I think you can even try it yourself at home. The kaya is not the thick kind, it's a bit watery but not THAT watery. You get what I mean? Haha. You should try it then you'll know.

#1 Chicken Omelette with Rice: My chicken omelette with rice. It's a disappointment. I thought it'll be fried rice inside but it's only plain rice -_-||| And the egg is too little for the portion of rice.
#2 Beef Noodle Soup: Marilyn ordered this and I don't know whether it's nice.
#3 Khao Mok Gai: According to the menu, this is the thai version of hainanese chicken rice. I think it's only average. But at least better than my omelette rice.
#4 Prata with Kaya: This is the bomb!!! It's a must-try!!!

Sydney Madang Restaurant

안녕하세요!!!

Oh man sorry for disappearing for so long. I was busy with school and I literally camp in the library everyday =( I finally find a day that I am free to eat my favorite korean food.

I went to this place 4 times already and I still wants to go back there. I always order different food and the food never disappoint me!!! This place is really famous in Sydney and it is one of the top rating restaurants for korean food. The place is quite difficult to find because it is situated in some alley of the korean town that I talked about the other time. But you can see the sign outside and it will lead you into the alley.

You can try out their set lunch which is super worth the price because the portion is super huge and you'll get super full after eating it. Also, they provide you with side dishes to munch 1st while waiting for your food. And the good thing is, they will change their side dishes every time so you won't get bored of it. And you should try out their korean pancake!!! It's really yummy!!! I love it when you dip it with the sauce =) You can try any of the dishes there because every dish is yummy =) It is a must-eat place if you come to Sydney =)

#1 side dishes: They always have different side dishes when you go there but I like the potato and the kimchi.

#2 Mushroom Korean Pancake: I love it especially with the sauce.

#3 Seafood Korean Pancake: I don't like it when they put vegetables in the seafood pancake. But I still eat it because I like the overall texture of the pancake.

#4 Tofu Stew: I like the soup base because it's not very spicy but I think the soup is a bit bland for a korean soup.

#5 Pork: I love the pork with the sauce. It's super nice!!! But I think they put too much onion already because I left one whole bunch of onions in the plate.

Niji Japanese Restaurant

Hello!!!

OMG I finally finished my mid-sem exam!!! And I finally got to meet up with Chanya after so long!!! I went over to UNSW to do my assignment (Yes. I still got assignments to do.) and catch up with her.

Whenever I go to UNSW area, I'll always go to this Japanese place for lunch. They have this set lunch bento for only $12.50 and it has so much food that I always cannot finish them. And not only that, the food is really yummy. A lot of people might not have heard of this place before but I think those people staying at Kingsford area should go and try it. We also order their sashimi to try and it's awesome as well. Although I haven't tried their ala carte food, I think it'll be as yummy =)

Niji Sushi Bar
333 Anzac Parade (at Borrodale Rd.)
Kingsford, NSW
#1 Salmon Lover: The salmon is yummy!!! They have a combination of raw salmon, salmon eggs and grilled salmon. If you are a salmon lover, you should try it.
#2 Salmon and eel roll: Raz ordered this is I think it tasted awesome!!! I like the combination of salmon and eel with the sushi rice.
#3 Terriyaki Bento Set: This is one of their set lunch offer. I always order this because it's so filling and they have all my favorite food. The teriyaki is so yummy with the sauce and there's octopus takoyaki as well =) The sushi is tuna sushi, not really to my liking though.
#4 Soft Shell Crab Bento Set: I haven't tried this but it looks nice. There's cold soba, salmon and swordfish sashimi and of course, the soft sell crab. I shall try it the next time I come. Haha.
#5 Tempura Bento Set: Apparently there's only 1 prawn tempura. Haha. The rest are vegetables tempura which is not my cup of tea.
