A day at Taronga Zoo

Hello!!!

This road trip was on the 1st week of school and it's week 12 already. Haha. I know I am slow but I'm busy studying OK (Yeah right). Natasha and I were planning to go to different places for road trips during the weekends. We were planning to study super hard during the weekday so that we can enjoy our road trip during the weekends. But this plan didn't happen at all (because Natasha went back to Hong Kong for good and I was too lazy to wake up early in the morning just to go to the library to study considering that my lesson starts at 2pm almost everyday). So this is our 1st road trip to the Taronga Zoo because Natasha had been ranting to go to the zoo since the end of last semester. LOL.

Taronga Zoo
Bradley's Head Road (at Whiting Beach Road)
Mosman, NSW

#1 The 3 of us getting excited for the trip :)
#2 we took a cable car up to the main entrance and the view behind us is awesome.
#3 the 1st animal we see is the bear. Haha. I thought it's quite cute though.
#4 the crocodile pond is so dirty! I doubt they clean it up for them.
#5 That large lizard there is a Komodo dragon!
#6 This blue tongue lizard scares the enemy off by sticking out it's tongue. Haha. Sounds like a kid. But the lizard refused to stick out its tongue when I tried to capture it =(
#7 Some fat chameleon.
#8
#9 I love this cute tortoise =)
#10 It was walking towards me when it saw me =) Haha.
#11
#12 Giraffe!!
#13 Look at the view at the back! The giraffes' enclosure has an awesome view of the Sydney city skyline!!!
#14
#15 It's their lunch time when we were there.
#16 They are super cute!!!! Reminds me of Running Man's Kwang Soo. Haha.
#17
#18
#19 More Girin pictures =)
#20
#21 I can't capture myself with the giraffe =(
#22 It's also called '山羊' in Korean according to Chloe. haha.
#23 This stupid zebra kept showing me its butt.
#24
#25 This elephant is drinking water and trying to bath itself. So cute!!!
#26
#27
#28 My favorite animal after horse =)
#29
#30 They are so cute =)
#31
#32 These 2 huge tortoise are couple I guess. haha.
#33
#34 Some cute otters diving for food.
#35 They look kind of scary because they are so huge.
#36 I really pity them because the fence around their cage is so short that people can throw something inside to hurt them. This stupid kid threw a stick at it and it tried to open its mouth to catch it! What if it really ate it and was choked =(
#37 We watched the sea lion and seal performance and it was pretty good. Nothing fascinating about the performance though because it's pretty common in the zoos that I had been to.
#38 Penguins!!
#39
#40 This gorilla is trying to cover its face with the plants.
#41 It looked quite cute actually.
#42 Then it decided to show us its butt.
#43 If I never remember wrongly, this is the 1st time I saw a gorilla in real life. I don't think I've seen it in another zoo.
#44
#45 Which zoo in Australia don't have kangaroos
#46 And emu?
#47 We are getting excited for the show.

I've been to many zoos before and I think that Taronga zoo really have nothing much to see. When we were planning to go, Jane told us that she only spent half the day there. I was quite surprised because if you really see all the animals in the zoo, you'll probably need one day to finish. But I finally understand why Jane and her friends spent less than a day there.

Honestly speaking, we don't really have time to finish looking at all the animals there but I think that the animals featured are really the same. There is nothing different from the rest of the zoos in Australia. I went to the Australia Zoo in Brisbane before once, and it is really different from the rest of the zoos I've been to. I'll talk about Australia Zoo another time. But Taronga zoo really disappoints me. Australia is known for their koala, kangaroo, emu, spiny anteater and the platypus right? But the zoo only has a few koalas which are hugging the trees and they didn't even allow us to take a picture with it or just touch it. The kangaroos are also fenced up. I can only see 1 emu and no spiny anteater and platypus at all!!! OK. They had platypus but the platypus display were closed that day -_-||| But overall, I wasn't really impressed with the zoo and I think that other than the giraffe and the giraffe enclosure that oversees the entire Sydney is cool, there is really nothing else to be fascinated about.

Chat Thai

Sawadeeka!!

Usually when you talk about famous thai restaurants in Sydney, the first thing that comes to your mind will be Chat Thai. It was even featured in the tourist food guide for Sydney. However, although Chat Thai is so near my place, I only went there twice because I am not really a fan of thai food. But I thought that the food there was quite authentic. Recently, I brought Cindi there and she thought that the food was good.

I thought that the food was good too. The only drawback was their chili was super spicy! I thought I can withstand spiciness pretty well compared to my friends of other nationality (Ok, except for Koreans) but even I think that the chili is super spicy!!! Before eating, Cindi asked me to compare Chat Thai with It's Time for Thai and I thought that Chat Thai's food is more spicy. And she was like then I think it'll be better! (She's a chili lover, so it's not accurate to ask her. LOL.)

If you are a chili or spicy food lover, I suggest you can try the food here. Cindi said that this place has the best thai food in Sydney. I think I would go back there and try their other dishes too.

#1 Thai Iced Tea (with condense milk): It's super authentic!!! Haha. You might think that it's very sweet but it tasted the same as Bangkok's thai iced tea.
#2 Green Curry: I only tried a mouth of it and I thought it tasted pretty good. Although I don't really like the spices taste. Haha.
#3 Chili fried rice: Yes. I ordered chili fried rice but it came out to be normal rice. Haha. I don't know whether the waiter got the wrong dish or it's supposed to be like that. But the food was really spicy.
#4 Crab Fried Rice: This is really awesome!!! I added some chili flakes to it and it goes very well with it. I like the fact that they actually peel out the crab meat from the crab for us. Haha. And No, it's not the man-made crab meat that I'm talking about. It's real crab meat!!!
#5 Glass Noodle Salad: I like the taste of the glass noodle. It was like sour and spicy at the same time. A very good appetizer to start the dinner.
